Dolphin deaths delay set-net fishing

The removal of the set-net fishing ban along Marlborough’s east coast has been delayed because of further dolphin deaths.

The Primary Industries Ministry intended to lift the ban, which covers all set-net fishing from Cape Jackson to the Clarence River, yesterday but the death of two Hector’s dolphins off the Canterbury Coast in February has prompted minister David Carter to seek further advice on the issue…
